What is the total cost of a puppy?
The cost of one of our pet puppies (AKC Limited Registration) is $2,500 ($500 deposit + $2,000 at pickup or delivery), as well as microchipping and lifetime enrollment in AKC Reunite, is included in the purchase price of your puppy.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes! Your puppy also comes with a 2 year health guarantee, first set of shots, vet check and health letter, will be dewormed, and AKC limited registration paperwork. You will also receive copies of both parents pedigrees and OFA and genetic clearances,
Can I meet you, your dogs, or puppies?
Yes! However, we only allow visitors by appointment. Only those who are on our waiting list are invited to help with puppy socialization (we will contact you with times and opportunities). Anyone not on our wait list is welcome to meet us and our dogs outside of puppy visits. Please contact us to schedule a time.
Can you deliver my puppy?
Yes! If you are not able to pick up your puppy due to the distance, we can personally deliver your puppy to you anywhere that Southwest Airlines flies. This service is currently offered on a gratuitous basis, however, you would be responsible for the cost of our roundtrip plane ticket, plus the $95 Southwest pet fee. We have found Southwest to be the most accommodating to bringing puppies into the cabin, and will not ship our dogs in baggage due to the potential trauma and health risks involved.
Alternatively, if you are less than 200 miles away, we can drive your puppy to you for a nominal fee. Please contact us for additional information.
Do you have an older dog available for adoption?
We do not offer older puppies or any of our dogs displayed on this page for sale, as they are first and foremost our pets and members of our family.
Also, please understand that we are not a rescue. If you are interested in rescuing a golden, please visit the Arizona Golden Rescue.
How long do I have to wait for my puppy?
Our waiting list fills very quickly! Many of our families wait 6-15 months for their furever friend. This time frame fluctuates depending on how many litters we have each year, and how many puppies are born in those litters.
Can I get full AKC registration for my puppy?
While we offer full registration on a very select basis to certain homes (generally only under a co-ownership agreement, requiring a separate contract with commitment to completion of all OFA and genetic clearances, references, and an additional fee), please note unless otherwise agreed upon in our contract, our puppies are sold as pets on a spay/neuter contract with “limited registration” from the AKC.
This means your puppy can be registered with the AKC and would be able to compete in most AKC events including Obedience, Agility, Rally, Dock Diving, Hunting trials, etc. However, your puppy is not to be used for breeding and any litters they produced in violation of our contract would not be AKC registerable.
What health testing do my puppy’s parents have?
Great question! All of our puppy parents have OFA clearances on their hips, elbows, eyes, and hearts. You can find the links to their test results on their individual pages. Our breeding bitches and the sires we own also do genetic testing for Degenerative Myelopathy, Ichthyosis (Golden Retriever Type), Golden Retriever 1, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Golden Retriever 2, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration and/or Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (Golden Retriever Type), Progressive Retinal Atrophy. You can view the results of our testing from Paw Print Genetics via the links in our dogs individual profile pages.
Do I get to pick my puppy or do you pick for me?
Puppies are selected in the order in which deposits are received (which directly corresponds to your waiting list position). The exceptions to this rule are 1) if our family or our stud owner are opting to keep first puppy, and 2) if any puppies are being placed in show homes.
Leading up to puppy selection day, we will provide you with information on each of the puppy’s personalities in the litter, what shade of gold we anticipate they will grow up to be, etc., and happily assist you in choosing the best puppy for you and your family based on your desired characteristics. At the end of the day however, you pick your puppy. We do not assign puppies to families. The choice is yours!
What payment methods do you accept?
Please DO NOT send any payments until AFTER your application has been approved. If we receive a deposit without an application, it will be rejected or refused and returned to you, which will delay your addition to our waiting list.
We accept payments via Venmo, Zelle, cash, and cashier’s check. Please don’t take offense – scammers are out there!) Zelle is a free, bank-to-bank direct payment service, similar to Venmo.
If you prefer to pay for your puppy via installments rather than in a lump sum, we can work with you! That said, your puppy must be completely paid off prior to being picked up at 8 weeks old.
I have a question that isn’t answered here!
Please contact us with any questions you may have that are not answered here! We will do our best to respond within 2 business days. Around holidays, when we have a litter of newborn pups, and when we are out showing, it sometimes takes us 3-5 days to respond. We appreciate your patience!
